style=\"border-style:solid;border-bottom-width:8px;\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"porto-u-sub-heading\" style=\"\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the course of its long history, the Faculty of Performing Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta is an institution of higher education in the field of performing arts in Indonesia. Before transforming into the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta as it is known today, this institution was originally a combination of elements from AMI (Indonesian Academy of Music) and ASTI (Indonesian Academy of Dance). Akademi Musik Indonesia \"AMI\", another component, was born in 1961 and developed from Sekolah Musik Indonesia (SMIND) which was established in 1952; and Akademi Seni Tari Indonesia \"ASTI\" was born in 1963; a continuation of the Indonesian Dance Conservatory (KONRI) which was born a little further back, in 1961.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar to ASRI, the establishment of AMI and ASTI was also due to the strong encouragement of Indonesian art lovers to develop what they have. Although long before that art education had traditionally existed, but to improve both vertically and horizontally, formal and modern art education institutions were needed. In early 1973 a meeting between the leaders of STSRI \"ASRI\", \"AMI\", \"ASTI\" and several other art academies with officials from the Ministry of Education and Culture, agreed to form an art higher education institution with a wider scope and greater authority both in the field of art and in terms of higher education provisions.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In line with the educational objectives of ISI Yogyakarta, the Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP) educates prospective artist scholars, and prospective professional artists in the field of performing arts.
