ISI Yogyakarta Lecturer as a Workshop and lecturer on Javanese Dance at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC, USA

Dra. M. Heni Winahyuningsih, M.Hum., Lecturer of Dance Department, ISI Yogyakarta was the presenter. workshop and gave a lecture on Javanese Dance at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC. The Javanese Dance workshop and lecture were held for two days on June 20 to 21, 2017. On the first day, Dra. M. Heni Winahyuningsih, M.Hum., gave a lecture on Javanese dance philosophy, development, and recent efforts in the community to increase interest in dance and generally traditional arts. Then on the second day she gave a workshop on basic movements of Javanese dance, until forming a simple dance: Golek Ayun-ayun.

The participants of this activity were US citizens. Participants enjoyed the lectures and workshops and admired the beauty and connection of dance with the flexibility of the body's posture, resulting in graceful movements that do not burden the body.
