YOGYAKARTA – In an effort to strengthen the relevance of art education with the working world while preserving tradition, the Gamelan Department, Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP), Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta has officially established a partnership with the Yogyakarta Special Region Cultural Office (Kundha Kabudayan) through the “Impactful Campus Program”. This collaboration is realized through the implementation of the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) Independent Program – Impactful Campus. This program provides students with the opportunity to be directly involved in independent work practices at the DIY Cultural Office, particularly in the Cultural Institution Capacity Building sector for 4 months. The student implementing the program is Reihan Yanuar Pamungkas.
During the program, students will be actively involved in various strategic agendas, including identifying and mapping cultural institutions, assisting with capacity-building programs, and participating in the monitoring and evaluation of activities.
This program is designed to achieve several key objectives for students and the community, including:
• Integration of Theory and Practice: Providing contextual learning experiences so that students are able to integrate art theory with the realities of the working world.
• Competency Development: Honing students' pedagogical, professional, and social skills.
• Tradition Preservation: Supporting the preservation of karawitan art through the transfer of knowledge and aesthetic values to the wider community.
• Professional Ethics: Cultivating responsibility and work ethic through direct engagement in cultural governance within the DIY Culture Office environment.
Through this synergy, it is hoped that artistic talents will emerge who are not only technically proficient but also have a deep understanding of governance and cultural preservation within society.
