Tracing the Text Behind Sukuh Temple by S-1 Theater Students

Saturday, November 22, 2025 Students of the Theater Department of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta carried out field research activities in the Nusantara Text Study Course at Sukuh Karanganyar Temple with the theme "Tracking the Text Behind Sukuh Karanganyar Temple". This course is taught by Dr. Hirwan Kuardhani, M.Hum, Dr. Koes Yuliadi, M.Hum, and Fitri Rahmah, M.Sn. Through theoretical provision in lectures, field research, and guidance from the course lecturers, students will produce audio-visual works based on the text of Sukuh Temple as the output of this course. In the research carried out at Sukuh Temple, the speakers were Mr. Gunawan, the manager of the Sukuh Temple area from the BPCB (Cultural Heritage Preservation Center) Central Java and Mas Yosi Ancah, an activist and lover of cultural heritage from the Kandang Kebo Ngaliyan Community, Yogyakarta.
