Yogyakarta, July 3, 2025 - Ni Made Puspa Baira, an outstanding student from Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, has been selected as a representative of her campus in the LLDIKTI Region V regional outstanding student selection event. Baira's selection is a recognition of her dedication and contribution in academics and social care.
On this prestigious occasion, Baira will present her paper entitled "TIRTA BAHARI: THE ROLE OF DANCE IN TACKLING MARINE POLLUTION IN YOGYAKARTA." This paper highlights how dance can be an effective medium to educate the public and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining marine cleanliness and sustainability, especially in the Yogyakarta area.
In addition, Baira also demonstrated her ability to communicate globally through an English speech. In his speech, he raised the crucial issue of "overtourism" or excess tourism in two popular Indonesian destinations, Bali and Yogyakarta. Through this speech, Baira seeks to spark discussion and find sustainable solutions to address the negative impacts of the overtourism phenomenon.
Ni Made Puspa Baira's participation in the selection of outstanding students of LLDIKTI Region V is expected to inspire other students to continue to work, innovate, and contribute positively to society and the environment.
