Two Lecturers of FSP ISI Yogyakarta Become Resource Persons for Karawitan Workshop at Srinakharinwirot University

Two Lecturers of the Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP) ISI Yogyakarta, Drs. Joko Tri Laksono, M.A., M.M. (Lecturer and Head of the Ethnomusicology Study Program of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta) and Aji Santoso Nugroho, S.Sn., M.Sn. (Lecturer of Karawitan Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts, ISI Yogyakarta) were the resource persons for a karawitan workshop held at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, from 22 to 24 July 2024. For three days the two lecturers of FSP ISI Yogyakarta provided knowledge and skills to play gamelan for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University.

This karawitan workshop is part of the implementation of cooperation framed in an activity entitled Workshop on Thai & Indonesian Dance and Music. ISI Yogyakarta lecturers were given the opportunity to become workshop speakers and in return the ISI Yogyakarta delegation attended a Thai traditional music workshop organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University.

This activity was held as a form of implementation of the MoU that had been signed by the two university leaders. Through activities with international university partners, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the IKU 6 ISI Yogyakarta score and be able to improve the ranking of FSP ISI Yogyakarta in QS World by Subject Performing Arts.
