The Karawitan Department of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta in collaboration with Padepokan Wargo Budoyo Gejayan Merbabu held an Nusantara Performing Arts Production Management Workshop on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 09.30 WIB - finished at Pendapa Kyai Panjangmas ISI Yogyakarta.
The Nusantara Performing Arts Production Management Workshop is one of the programs held to provide knowledge and skills in managing performing arts in Indonesia. In this workshop, participants will be taught about performing arts management, from planning, organizing, to event promotion. The goal is to improve the quality and professionalism in the performing arts industry in Indonesia, especially the archipelago performing arts in the current digital era.
Nusantara performances are performances that originate from the spirit of the archipelago, more than just a spectacle, but also a guide that has the characteristics of the archipelago's identity which is not bound to a certain time but also across time based on the history and noble values of the archipelago. Meanwhile, management is the process of planning, making decisions, organizing, leading, and controlling, human, financial, physical and information resources related to the performance so that the performance can be carried out smoothly and organized.
The resource persons in this workshop consisted of experts and practitioners in the field of performing arts management, namely Maria Frimarini Nilo Wardhani, STP, M.M. and Paksi Raras Alit, S.S., M.A. They shared their experiences and knowledge to the workshop participants consisting of lecturers, students, and members of Padepokan Wargo Budoyo Gejayan Merbabu. In this workshop, participants will get a deep insight into performing arts management, including event management, performer management, financial management, and publication management. In addition, this workshop is also expected to provide opportunities for collaboration and networking. networking between participants. The participants were able to meet and interact with people who share a common interest in the performing arts, providing a good opportunity to build networks and relationships to enhance the development of the archipelago's performing arts, especially karawitan.
In addition to practical material, the workshop also provided knowledge about the latest developments in the performing arts industry in Indonesia. Participants were informed about the latest trends, technologies, and marketing strategies that can help in managing performing arts events. Through this workshop, participants will indirectly increase their knowledge and skills in performing arts management to face new challenges and opportunities in the performing arts world of the archipelago.
