MUSIC DEPARTMENT PMB TEST GUIDE 2013

  1. Quota
The Department of Music, which is supported by 51 permanent lecturers and more than 20 honorary lecturers or Extraordinary Teaching Staff, currently has 720 students from various regions in Indonesia. While over the past five years it has graduated an average of 80 graduates per year, during this period the quota for new student admissions tends to increase and is always above the 100 mark. After considering various things, including the balance between human resources and available facilities, this year's admission quota is set to fulfill a maximum of two regular theory classes with a total of 80 new student candidates plus three Bidikmisi student candidates.
  2. Test Form
So far, the admission test for new students has not only been based on the competence of instrumental/vocal skills but also musicality which is tested through a solfegio test, and interest through an interview test. Last year it was even based on intellectual competence through a theory test that was managed centrally by the Rectorate. However, as a discipline that is one of the sub-disciplines of Performing Arts, for this year the PMB test in the Department of Music only focuses on instrumental/vocal skill competencies.
  3. Competency Standards
The minimum skill competency standard applied to the 2013 PMB test is the third level according to the taxonomy of instrument skill studies applicable in the Department of Music. The preparation of skill levels in the Department of Music refers to the skill levels that apply to international testing bodies, such as:

    1. Australian Music Examination Board ( http://www.imeb.com.au)
    2. Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (www.abrsm.org)
